JetBlue Airways U.S. National Luge Start Championships Slated for Oct. 23

[LAKE PLACID, N.Y.] — Catch all of the excitement of the annual JetBlue Airways USA National Luge Start Championships on-line, at www.usaluge.org, Thursday, Oct. 23, beginning at 6:30 p.m. America's top luge athletes will be racing head-to-head on the indoor, fully-refrigerated start ramps at World Financial Group (WFG) sponsored USA Luge's headquarters in Lake Placid, N.Y. The event will be carried live on the USA Luge EarthCam, with enhanced data services provided by West World Media.

Ashley Walden (Westborough, Mass.) has her sights set on a ninth-career start championship crown and will face her toughest challenge against teammate Julia Clukey (Augusta, Maine). Clukey enters the race as the reigning Meransen, Italy international start champion. The doubles team of Mark Grimmette (Muskegon, Mich.) and Brian Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) are looking for their second title together in the past five seasons, while Bengt Walden (Westborough, Mass.) is hoping to claim his second men’s singles crown since 2005.

Also, a visit to USA Luge's web site will allow that visitor to register for a chance to win two-round trip tickets to any JetBlue Airways destinations. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and are only permitted to make one entry per person.

Those who attend the free race in-person will have another opportunity to win a pair of round trip tickets on JetBlue Airways, USA Luge’s official airline partner, as well as other great prizes from USA Luge’s sponsors and suppliers. All airline ticket winners will be announced during the on-line event coverage. TrueBlue members who present their monthly statement or other proof of current membership at the door will receive a free USA Luge pin and poster.
